Obverse: A representation of St. Mark and a kneeling doge holding an olive branch in his hand and receiving a gonfalon - the symbol of power. Reverse: A scene of the town as viewed from the sea. Notwithstanding the conventional character of the drawing, several architectural monuments of Venice, among them the famous Cathedral of St. Mark, may be distinguished
