Silver. Weight 29.17 grammes, diameter 42 mm

Obverse: A bust portrait, in profile, of Friedrich August, with long ringlets, and wearing a coat of mail. Reverse: In the upper part there is a view of the town of Freiburg, - one of the sources of silver ore in Germany; on the outskirts of the town are seen the mining installations. In the lower part is the underground section of the mine with miners at work. Underneath is the word Gluck auf! ('Save return!') - parting word of the German miners
