Gold, diamonds, enamel Master К. Muller Moscow. 1789
The gold chalice (communion cup) is a splendid example of Russian jewellery art of the late 18th century. It is executed in the colour range characteristic of the 18th century: a delicate combination of gold, superbly cut diamonds and greyish-blue enamel. The chalice is part of a liturgical set donated to the Trinity- Sergius Laura by Metropolitan Platon.
