Gold, precious stones Moscow. 1618

The dipper, with its high curved beak-handle is reminiscent of a swimming bird in its flowing lines. It was forged of a single plate of gold to the order of Tsarina Marfa Ivanovna for her son, Tsar Michael Fyodorovich.
